Well London is an interesting town, there is so much to do, and we are always wandering off because we find something to look at. I’m having a great time seeing all these famous things I’ve heard referenced so many times. My feet are suffering though because of all this walking, I’ve got two good side blisters now on my feet, but I suffer on. Also, my sleep is still all messed up so I’m always getting tiered no to late in the evening which is irritating but I’m sure I will adjust soon enough. It was cool to see my bro again, he’s grown up a lot, living on his own made him a lot more mature and self reliant, a good change though.
As I walk down the main streets in London though it never really feels like I’m in London, just like I am in any other big city, it probably because everything is in English, so it doesn’t make it feel to foreign to me, I’m sure when I am in Paris I will feel different. London is expensive for some things but there are places all over that have many cheep options. For instance, we are only paying £10 for our hostel not to bad but there are many other hostels for £22. There are these things called “Mews” though which are like a back alley between apartment buildings for people to park their cars and such. They are all over and are beautiful, they aren’t like our back alleys, they are clean and made up with plants and things all over to make them look nice, I’ll take a picture and post it some time.
Big Ben was impressive; the building it is attached to (the parliament building) is huge and goes on forever. We went to the National Gallery yesterday; I got to see some works of art by some of the greats such as Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, and Leonardo, basically one from every Ninja Turtle with some Van Gogh thrown in for good measure. I’m enjoying my trip for sure but am missing places and people back home.
