I have always wanted to go to Legoland, the Original the one you see on the backs of Lego booklets you get with your Lego. And I finally got to two days ago, and it was everything I had hoped for.
On the Way from Copenhagen to Legoland I stopped in Odense, this is the City that Hans Christian Andersen was born in. I did the tourist thing there and saw the house it was born in and some other “important” buildings from his childhood. I was rather unimpressed, a nice little city but nothing more than a day trip unless you’re planning on visiting the plethora of expensive tourist traps that litter the city.
Legoland was great, full of rides and amazing models of various genres; the rides where the standard amusement park type but with a Lego theme. The pirate one in a boat going through caves and such, a river rafting one with Vikings, a dragon roller coaster, this kind of thing. The best one was Power Builder, this was a ride where you designed a sequence of moves and they were then put on a card. You took this card to an area that contained large robotic arms with two seats. You where strapped in and then the arms proceeded to spin you and twist you according to the program you had designed. I also got to build my own model car, the <a href:” http://www.camcorp.net/gallery/Danmark/LegoLand/slides/Legoland_04.php”> CamCorp 4000 </> and race it against mostly 8 year olds. In happy to say it came through in the clutch and won the race.
The models that filled the park where the most impressive thing though. They include replicas of famous ports, areas of cities, whole cities, and monuments things like that. There was a whole safari of animals made from Lego. They have working boat locks that allowed the Lego boats that navigated the canals. Check out the pictures its worth looks.
I got to try out my new <a href=”http://www.camcorp.net/gallery/Danmark/LegoLand/slides/Legoland_44.php”>tent</a> while I was at Lego land because that was the cheapest option. It’s a decent little tent, light weight, set up quickly and has an enough room for me and my bag.
I’m in Aalborg now which is in north Denmark, I’m spending a day here to check out the Viking graveyards and such then I will be heading over to Norway via ferry to camp for a few days. While I’m there I must working on getting a Russian visa and I’m hoping that won’t be too difficult.
